Our Story
Our love story began a Saturday afternoon of July 1988. I was in a taxi bringing me home when I saw her passing by. She was going to a Summer Leadership meeting that used to take place every Saturday afternoon. I had noticed her presence before in one of these meetings for being part of a committee that was planning recreational activities. She was something different from other girls I used to date.
So, sitting in the back of the taxi, I turned my head to get a good look at her who was walking down the street, slender with a pretty hairstyle. She attracted me so much that I said to myself: “This nice beautiful girl must be on my short list of conquests” I decided a little later in the afternoon to go to that weekly meeting in order to get a closer look and approach her.
Yes, our friendship, nourished by telephone conversations late into the night, didn’t long to give way to love, a love that was born in the new year of 1989. Between two “I love you” our first kiss tenderly slipped and dragged others.
Our love became a devouring fire to the point that our hearts decided in New Year 1990 to continue life together. In December 28, 1990 we passed each other the ring to the finger at the Methodist Church of Port-au-Prince.
25 years later, our love still strong, with its ups and downs, has come a long way. We are each other’s source of inspiration to our road to success. And the most wonderful thing is that now, father and mother of two sons and a daughter (Jean-Pierre E. Saraloys, and Jonathan), God has made us a Christian family to serve Him and our communities.
